Millie Drake, MA, LCMHCA
Licensed Therapist
Starting therapy can feel intimidating. Maybe you’ve been thinking about it for a while, or maybe something happened that made you realize you don’t want to keep carrying everything on your own. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you’re looking! I work with children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, identity concerns, relationship challenges, family conflict, and more of life’s many transitions. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest without worrying about being judged. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or overly clinical. It should feel like a place where you can make sense of what’s going on, learn practical tools, and leave feeling a little lighter than when you walked in.
Every client is different, so I tailor my approach to fit your needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence-based techniques. I have additional training in EMDR and play therapy, which allows me to incorporate techniques from those approaches when they’re appropriate for a client’s goals and needs.
Before transitioning into full-time clinical therapy, I worked as a school counselor, which gave me valuable experience supporting children, adolescents, and families through academic, emotional, and social challenges. That experience continues to shape the way I connect with clients today. My hope is that therapy feels like a collaborative process—not one where I’m telling you how to live your life, but one where we work together to understand what’s keeping you stuck and help you move toward the life you want to build.
